Ordering a Custom Totem Pole:

Custom made Totem Poles are crafted from Pacific Northwest Red Cedar. Naturally resistant to mold, mildew, and bugs, Western Red Cedar is the premium choice for custom works. Hand carved and finished, then sealed with a coat of clear gloss polyurethane, leaving a shine that will last for years, decades if touched up once a year.

Let your imagination soar from a couple feet to 20-foot Totems, my poles are made with non-traditional techniques; Chainsaws are the main tool utilized to arrive at my desired form, then begins the hand carving and usage of various power tools and sanders to achieve the final result.

When creating a Custom Totem Pole there are two stylistic choices available if ordering a figure with wings as shown below. Feel free to reach out to talk figures, styles, and color.

The Stylized Thunderbird and Wolf Totem example shown below has its wings pierced through the body giving it a more natural look, while the custom “Totem Pole” commission of a World War Two bomber pinup has wings bolted to the back with six 6-in bolts, either of the two options is secure and comes down to stylistic preference. Not shown is a “relief” line down the back of the piece to let the wood move with the changing seasons, reduce weight, and control moisture.
